Forcast landed at Newton Abbot
It was the first time we’ve had a one/two in a race and there was nothing between them in the closing stages until Litterale Ci edged ahead by half a length in the final fifty yards.
It was the right race for both horses as we could not really separate them beforehand but we would have been happier if they had shared a dead heat!
Our amateur Aine O’Conner has won on her last three rides for the yard and again shone on the slick jumping winner while it was great to have Noel Fehily back for his first ride since fracturing a bone in his neck at Punchestown four months ago.
With four winners and three seconds from our last seven runners the horses are in top form with the National Hunt season proper only a month away.
Litterale Ci could well run next in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow and I’ll try to find another suitable race for the runner up while ground conditions are in his favour.
