Dolphin impresses at Wincanton
Green Dolphin confirmed the promise of his debut at Warwick in December with an impressive success in the bumper in blustery conditions at Wincanton on Thursday.
He was green in finishing third at Warwick and again showed signs of inexperience on his second start before buckling down well to put his seal on the race in the final quarter mile in the colours of Michael Pescod.
He was fully eleven lengths clear at the line and Noel Fehily had quite a job pulling him up after passing the racecourse stables which is always a good sign.
We bought Green Dolphin at Goffs Land Rover Sale in the summer of 2017 and have given him plenty of time to strengthen and develop.
He is very much going the right way now and is one of a number of lovely young prospects we have for the future.
We will see how he comes out of this race before making any plans but it is a long time until October so I wouldn’t rule out running him somewhere under a penalty before the end of the season.
