Voix D'Eau back with a bang
It was good to see Voix D’Eau end a long losing sequence with a decisive success in the sunshine at Worcester on Monday.
The bonus was that half a dozen of the enthusiastic syndicate who own him were present to cheer him on.
His task was made easier with two early non runners and then the favourite Newton Geronimo coming out of the race at the start.
He had also been given a chance with the handicapper finally dropping him to a more realistic mark and with ground conditions in his favour Voix D’Eau took full advantage with a twelve length defeat of The Last But One.
He was ridden with cool confidence by Aine O’Connor upsides on the inner before sprinting clear on the flat.
Voix D’Eau certainly looked to be enjoying himself at Worcester and hopefully this overdue victory will have boosted his confidence.
I imagine he will be out again soon under a penalty and I’d like to think that in this mood he could well win again.
With the ground pretty quick everywhere at the moment we haven’t had many runners in the past few weeks and there is no sign of an end to the heatwave.
But we are getting busy at home with around fifty horses already back in training after their summer holidays and more set to return shortly
