Stepping up a gear
With a winner on Thursday and Friday our team is stepping up a gear or two just as the rain we have all been praying for arrives to ease the ground around the country.
We have plenty of runners with chances at Wincanton and Aintree on Saturday and we will be disappointed if we cannot add to our score.
was undeniably impressive on her return to action in a NH maiden hurdle at Market Rasen on Thursday.
She was in command turning for home and galloped on powerfully to win by eight lengths from Annie MC
She wasn’t quite right last season like a few of ours and though she was a bit novicey early on at Market Rasen she warmed to the task as the race progressed.
Winning well will have boosted her confidence ahead of a run in a similar race under a penalty. Only then will we raise our sights with her.
On Friday Firmage Burg’s
comfortable success at Fontwell helped atone for her failure to start at Ffos Las last time.
She was keen throughout before moving stylishly into contention and beating Mon Port
with something to spare.
The race rather fell apart following two early fallers and the withdrawal of the warm favourite Comanche Red. Hopefully the handicapper will not be taking a lofty view of the form.
