Act Two For Lass

Acting Lass doubled his score over fences with a stylish round of jumping at Leicester on Thursday.

He was due to run at the same track a fortnight ago until the meeting was lost to the weather.

So this novice handicap against three opponents looked an ideal opportunity to further his education over fences.

While it wasn’t the plan to make the running the great thing about having Noel Fehily on your side is that he can adapt to any situation.

With no pace early on Noel felt it made sense to exploit the excellent jumping of Acting Lass who was always in control and found more when pressed by Ballyarthur in the closing stages.

A fine, big frame of a horse, he was always going to be a chaser but needed time and patience to show his full potential.

Hopefully he is getting there now and we can raise our sights though I am sure he will be far better suited by a stronger gallop when his jockey can settle him behind the leaders.

I am not thinking of the Cheltenham Festival for Acting Lass this season and will try to find another race for him on better ground towards the end of February or early March.
