Harry stars in Saturday Treble

We enjoyed a high profile treble on Saturday with Unowhatimeanharry on the mark at Aintree and the jaunty mare Lamanver Odyssey and the debutant Caribert both successful at Wincanton.

Unowhatimeanharry is more forward compared to twelve months ago so it was a question of giving him a gallop somewhere or finding a race now that would fit into his programme for the season.

The two and a half mile conditions Hurdle at Aintree looked a perfect opportunity for his first start of the winter against two opponents and it could hardly have gone better as he won comfortably by one and a half lengths from Value At Risk without being seriously tested.

Barry Geraghty was delighted with Unowhatimeanharry who will go next to Newbury for the Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle on 1st December.

Lamanver Odyssey completed a wonderful twenty four hours for her owner breeder Dr Donna Christensen as her older full sister Lady Of Lamanver won at Fontwell on Friday.

In landing the Mares' Handicap Hurdle at Wincanton Lamanver Odyssey earned a £10,000 bonus for Dr Christensen under the excellent mares' owners prize scheme.

We were hopeful of a big run as Noel Fehily felt she would have gone close in the EBF final at Newbury last March but for trying to run out at the third last.

It was good to see her put the record straight at Wincanton despite idling in front after the final hurdle.

We will keep Lamanver Odyssey going in handicap hurdles and see how far she can climb the ladder.

Caribert then completed a terrific afternoon for the team with a highly encouraging victory in the closing bumper.

A big, powerful type who has been going nicely at home, he relished the soft ground.

We will keep him to bumpers this season with the Goffs sales bumper at Newbury in the spring a tempting long term target.

It is a valuable race we won in March with another smart prospect in Bullionaire who runs in the same colours as Caribert.
