Decisive success for Queue

The decisive success of Get In The Queue  on his debut at Uttoxeter on Tuesday extended our excellent record in bumpers in recent weeks.

While he is a lovely prospect and was ready to run we were not sure what to expect as he has only just started to come together at home over the past month.

A half brother by Mount Nelson to two decent flat horses Get In The Queue took time to get the hang of things at Uttoxeter as he ran green while racing at the rear of the field in the colours of Paul and Clare Rooney.

But Mikey Legg kept pushing away and the horse kept responding until a point rounding the final bend when he suddenly grasped what was expected of him.

Get In The Queue then made relentless progress as he closed on the leaders, moved ahead just over two furlongs out and galloped on willingly to beat the warm favourite North Star Oscar  by nine lengths.

It was an exciting display by the four year old who clearly handled the soft ground and stayed on strongly once the penny dropped.

I’d imagine we will keep him to bumpers this season while he learns about racing before sending him over hurdles next autumn.
