As I See It gained a deserved first victory at Huntingdon on Wednesday after a series of consistent performances.

In winning the maiden three mile hurdle narrowly from his chief market rival Oakley Hall he was providing a first success for his owners Clare Clifford and Diana Goodall with their first horse.

They were both at Huntingdon to cheer on As I See It and his jockey Niall Madden who gave him a fine ride.

I ran him in a maiden hurdle rather than a handicap because I felt his current mark of 130 was high enough for what he has achieved so far.

If he comes out of this race in good shape I will be tempted to turn him out again in a novice hurdle under a penalty.

It is great to have the horses in top form as we turn our attention to Cheltenham over the next two days.

If the forecast rain arrives Unowhatimeanharry will love the conditions at the course in the Stayers’ Hurdle.

And the more it rains the better the prospects of American who we have supplemented in the Gold Cup on Friday.
