Quick fire Treble
A treble in little more than half an hour on Wednesday took our score for the season to 26 winners.
The classy five year old If The Cap Fits was first to strike under a penalty in a Class 4 novice Hurdle at Bangor-on-Dee on ground that was much softer than he appreciates.
We took him out of a similar race on Saturday when conditions became too testing and got away with it at Bangor because he is a talented young horse on the rise.
We will try to find another suitable race for him on decent ground and will step him up in trip at some point.
Wotzizname was the next to prevail under top weight in the £13,000 novice handicap chase at Exeter over three miles.
He blew up badly on his previous run at the course just over a month ago, was dropped 4lbs after it and looked a different proposition as he moved stylishly into contention before staying on stoutly in tiring ground to beat the well backed favourite Another Venture by three and a quarter lengths with the third horse fully forty lengths further back.
Wotzizname has always shaped like a thorough stayer and could be out again in four or five weeks.
While this is a horse who doesn't have to make the running it rather looked as though the other jockeys let Noel boss things which suited us fine and he won with something to spare.
Dashing Oscar is something of a standing dish at this meeting as he was just touched off in a photo there two years ago and then gained his first success over hurdles back at Bangor twelve months ago.
As he is at his best when fresh we gave him a little break before targeting this two and a half mile handicap which carried a first prize of £14,076.
Dashing Oscar will remain over hurdles this winter and should make a useful chaser when we switch him to fences next autumn.
