Harry Extends Season of Excellence
Harry Fry extended his season of excellence on Thursday with a notable double on Taunton’s most valuable card of the year. Victories by his smart novices Karinga Dancer and Violin Davis brought his score in his first campaign as a trainer to twenty. That is a superb strike record for a yard that began the campaign with just over that number of horses in training.
Harry commented “We had 18 wins from Seaborough last season when it was a satellite yard for Paul Nicholls, so to beat that total at this stage is obviously really pleasing. The horses are holding their form well and we still have a few more to run before the end of April and we are already looking ahead to next season when we will try to do better again. After such a wet winter I am definitely planning to run a small team of horses through the summer on better ground.
I’m pleased to say that I’ve had quite a few inquiries from potential owners. So hopefully we will be starting with a bigger team in the autumn”.
Karinga Dancer proved to be in a different class to his rivals in the novice hurdle at Taunton. He is one to follow over fences next season. Violin Davis took her score over fences to four though luck was on her side as she was left in the lead in the £12,600 novices’ chase by the last fence departure of two rivals. She could now run in the re-arranged mares chase final at Cheltenham later this month.
