As One Door Closes...
Harry Fry Racing can confirm that this morning Mr & Mrs Graham Calder’s horses left our care. Listed bumper winner Oscar Rock, impressive English point to point winner Urban Hymn and six-time winner King Of The Night are set to join Malcolm Jefferson in the North.
Harry comments, “It is obviously hugely disappointing to see any horse leave the yard, but in particular horses of this calibre. I met with Mr & Mrs Calder last week where they explained that they are undergoing lifestyle changes and will be focusing all their attention on having their horses trained closer to home in the North”.
This news comes on the back of a very productive meeting with The Festival Goers, owners of Rock On Ruby in which the decision to remain hurdling was unanimously reached. The 2012 Champion Hurdler, who finished runner up to Hurricane Fly in the defence of his crown last season will be aimed at the 2m Listed Hurdle at Kempton on Sunday 20th October for his seasonal reappearance.
Harry continues, “We are looking forward to the challenge of competing for top honours again over hurdles this season with Ruby and with a team of over 40 horses, almost double what we started with last October, we are really excited about building on what we achieved in our first season”.
It is confirmed 2012's Champion Hurdler Rock On Ruby (pictured above) will stay over hurdles during 2013/14
