Ruby Arkle Prep Weather Dependant
With no sign of an end to the prolonged spell it is now possible that Rock on Ruby may go straight to the Cheltenham Festival without another run over fences.
Testing ground has already led to him missing two suitable races and if things don't start to dry up soon we may not have the opportunity to get him out again on the decent ground that he needs.
Ruby will be well entered up in the weeks ahead. But given the issues he has had with his wind it would not be fair to expect him to race in the current conditions.
He continues to please us in his schooling at home and again looked the part when Noel Fehily popped him over some fences at Seaborough on Thursday morning.
Ruby is thriving as he tends to do at the start of each year and we all want him to have one more race over fences before the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham. But if the weather continues to frustrate our plans then we will give him plenty more schooling at home ahead of the Festival.
I appreciate it is not an ideal preparation for such an important race but it is one we may have to pursue.
With the British weather continuing to disrupt race meetings up & down the country we are hoping for some dryer weather to get Rock On Ruby another run ahead of his Arkle challenge at The Festival in March.
