Chief and Henry Double Up
A double on Saturday helped make up for the frustration our team experienced at Cheltenham where things did not really go our way.
The good news is that our runners at the Festival all returned home in good shape. Now we have a year to try to put together another, hopefully stronger challenge there.
On Saturday Bold Chief, running for the first time in over five months, gained a fluent success from the front at Uttoxeter in the three mile novices' handicap chase which carried a decent first prize of £12,512.
Noel Fehilly always looked in control on Bold Chief who usually goes well fresh and notched up a hat-trick for us last summer. He was probably helped by racing against several horses who had been campaigned on very testing going over the winter.
Bold Chief tends to suffer from heat stress after his races so that was why he did not come back into the winner's enclosure.
Later in the afternoon Henryville took our score for the season to thirty with a deserved victory at Fontwell. He ran well in a bumper last time, settled well for Felix de Giles and kept on strongly in the closing stages after taking the lead.
