Dashing Oscar made the perfect start to his racing career with an impressive victory in the bumper at Newton Abbot on Friday.

He seemed to relish the soft ground as he circled the field before dashing into a clear lead just over two furlongs out.

Dashing Oscar and his young rider Conor Brassil then swept home by four and a half lengths from Act One trained by my neighbour Anthony Honeyball.

It was a highly encouraging start to his career by our new recruit who comes from an excellent jumping family and was a first ever winner for his owners Andy and Sharon Measham.
