Fletcher's Flyer kept up the good form of the team with his first success over hurdles at Ascot on Saturday.

A shade unlucky at Ffos Las in October, he made amends with a stout staying performance in a£12,512 novice hurdle over two and three quarter miles.

He didn't jump quite as well this time, and also drifted right-handed after the final hurdle but kept on strongly to hold the renewed challenge of Parish Business.

There is still improvement to come from Fletcher's Flyer who never stops trying.

With Noel Fehily on duty at Haydock I was delighted to call on Ruby Walsh for the ride. I doubt I will ever use a better substitute.

Long term Fletcher's Flyer has what it takes to be an exciting three mile chaser.
