Sir Ivan took our score for the season to thirty winners with his first success at Exeter on Sunday.

Five horses came down in an incident packed novice hurdle and Sir Ivan managed to miss the worst of the scrimmaging though he was briefly hampered some time after the fourth flight.

He began to make eye-catching progress as the field turned for home, and moved steadily into contention before easing into the lead at the last and winning with a bit to spare from Ugolin De Beaumont.

Sir Ivan is a typical product of his sire Midnight Legend whose progeny never stop trying.

He did very well for his summer break though things didn't really go the right way for him in bumpers. He does not want the ground much quicker so we will have to pick and choose where he goes next under a penalty.

Sir Ivan's victory came 24 hours after an excellent day at Newbury which took the stable's earnings to £400,000 for the season.

Activial ran a blinder in finishing third in the Betfair Hurdle two places ahead of Jolly's Cracked It.

Next for Activial is a step up in trip for the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham Festival.

Karinga Dancer completed a lucrative afternoon for us at Newbury by earning £6,685 for his enthusiastic owner Ray Geddes in finishing third in the Betfair Price Rush Game Spirit Chase.
