I am pleased to report Rock On Ruby is bang on course for Aintree after recovering from the bug that caused him to miss the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at Cheltenham.

We immediately put him on a course of antibiotics which seemed to do the trick and he has been pleasing in his work again over the last fortnight.

We were hoping to take Ruby away for a racecourse gallop this week but fast ground put paid to that plan.

So this morning Noel Fehily came down to sit on him and was clearly delighted with his well-being.

We feel that Ruby is back on his A game which is good news with Aintree round the corner.

He will hold an entry on the opening day in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle in which he was a close second to The New One a year ago. But I will also give him an entry in the Grade 1 three mile hurdle on Grand National day.

Early next week I'll have a close look at both races before choosing between them.
