Members of our racing club had good cause for celebration on Saturday after Voix D'Eau, their first runner of the season, made a winning start in their colours at Ffos Las.

The bonus was a first prize of £9,747 for landing the Class 3 Novice Handicap Chase by thirteen lengths from his chief rival Henllan Harri.

Noel Fehily was in no hurry on Voix D'Eau who jumped well in the rear for the best part of two miles before moving into contention and then readily pulling clear of his three rivals.

Noel was pleased with his jumping over the new fences at Ffos Las and felt that the horse loved the ground which was a fair bit quicker than you usually get at the Welsh track.

Voix D'Eau has an entry on Monday though that might be a bit too soon for him to race again.

Given the way he won I'd like to think there will be more opportunities for him in the coming weeks before the ground goes against him.
