Doncaster double for Legg

A double by Voix D'Eau and Meribel Millie at Doncaster on Friday took our score to ten winners from the last twenty nine runners.

Both were ridden by our 7lbs claiming amateur Michael Legg who is also enjoying a fine run at the moment.

Voix D'Eau is proving quite a money winner for the forty strong members of the Harry Fry Racing Club who have had five winners from their last seven runners.

He is gaining in confidence with experience over fences, jumped and travelled well and found plenty at the finish to catch and pass the long time leader Off The Ground.

Voix D'Eau appreciates good ground which is why I took him to Doncaster. He raced off a mark of 138 on Friday, is likely to go up a few pounds for this latest success, so we might look at a novice chase for him next.

I was delighted to see Meribel Millie make a winning debut in the colours of Andrew Polson in the closing bumper despite pulling hard from half-way.

A better pace would have helped her settle but despite being lit up she stayed on well once she struck the front in the straight and ran out a good winner.

I will try and find a fillies race next for Meribel Millie over Christmas and the New Year before raising our sights with her.
