Whataknight gained his first success over fences at Hereford on Monday.

He won as an odds on shot should do though it was a bit surprising to see him jumping to the left at times as he tended to go right at Ffos Las on his previous outing.

Whataknight joined us last season after winning five point-to-points so his jumping isn't really a concern.

He showed a willing attitude in winning a long distance handicap hurdle for us at Haydock in May and I'm hopeful he will make a better chaser.

Monday was a good opportunity for him to get his head in front and gain some experience. I suspect he will be better in a strongly run race and I'll probably run him in some sort of head gear next time to focus his attention and help him concentrate.

He enjoys the current ground conditions and should progress nicely this season.
