Dashing Oscar offered hope that his troubles are behind him with a clear cut success in the novice hurdle at Bangor on Wednesday.

Twelve months earlier he failed to win by a short head at the same course but he was then troubled by a persistent skin allergy which restricted him to only one more run last season.

He has been in good form again at home this Autumn, has always had ability and can hopefully kick on now by making up for lost time.

I'll be looking for another novice hurdle for Dashing Oscar next under a penalty.

Drumcliff, our other runner in the race, started favourite but looked to be struggling in the tiring ground a fair way from home.

A good actioned horse who has already won a bumper, he deserves another chance on more suitable going.
