Unowhatimeanharry stretched his winning sequence to seven with a stunning victory in the JLT Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday.
I couldn't have asked for a better present than a Grade 1 prize a day before my 30th birthday!
It has been a truly incredible horse for us over the past sixteen months and the dream goes on after this latest stylish success.
One thing is for sure. You could never have predicted the relentless progress he has made since we bought him privately in the summer of 2015.
He won his first handicap for the Harry Fry Racing Club off a mark of 123 and was rated 165 by the handicapper ahead of this latest triumph.
That is the beauty of jump racing as sometimes a horse comes through with the winning habit when you least expect it.
He then stayed on strongly to win with something to spare from the consistent runner-up Lil Rockerfeller.
We will see how Unowhatimeanharry is after this hard race before making plans but his programme almost writes itself.
So after talking to JP McManus and his racing manager Frank Berry I imagine we will be looking at the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham late in January ahead of the Stayers Hurdle at the Festival.
