Serosevsky continues progression
A straightforward success at Newton Abbot on Tuesday should put Serosevsky spot on for his return to the track in eleven days time for a valuable Handicap Hurdle we won a year ago with Golden Birthday.
We didn’t originally plan to run him in this novice hurdle but when the race was re-opened it seemed too good an opportunity to miss.
The timing was right, the opposition was modest and he enjoyed a nice school round with Aine O’Connor before easing past the long time leader Spicy Fruity between the last two flights to win with the minimum of fuss by four and a half lengths.
Serosevsky has progressed nicely this summer, beating a hot pot at Exeter early in May before being a shade unlucky when caught close home by an odds on shot at Warwick a couple of weeks later.
Aine rode Serosevsky with bags of confidence at Newton Abbot and given that the runner up is rated 19lbs inferior on a mark of 105, the handicapper will hopefully not feel it necessary to raise our horse more than a pound or two.
