Litterale strikes at Ludlow
Litterale Ci gained an overdue first success over hurdles at Ludlow on Wednesday with the help of a patient, confident ride by my sister in law Aine O’Connor who has now ridden eleven winners under rules.
They came from off the pace in the race for Lady Amateur Riders, led two out and readily drew clear of Prussian Eagle on the flat.
When Litterale Ci finished a close second to the smart filly Evening Hush in a juvenile hurdle at Exeter just over a year ago we thought she was sure to go on and win a race or two before the end of the season.
But she found life a bit of a struggle on the deep winter ground.
She returned from her summer break in Ireland looking much stronger before again running a little disappointingly when favourite at Stratford in October.
She is only four, looked as though she enjoyed herself on Wednesday and can hopefully kick on and progress now.
