Captain is an exciting prospect
All three of them are really nice prospects and should give their owners plenty to dream about over the summer.
Captain Drake is a fine, big chasing type we bought at the sales in December a month or so after he finished a good second on his debut in a point-to-point in Ireland.
We were in no rush with Captain Drake who has been giving us the right signals at home and shaping like a galloper.
That is why we took him to Towcester which has such a stiff finish. He travelled strongly in a hood, was clear heading round the final bend and though idling in front found more than enough to hold the persistent challenge of J’ai Froid.
The pair drew a long way clear in the closing stages which is encouraging for the future.
Captain Drake will now have a nice summer break before returning to Seaborough for a campaign over hurdles when we will be stepping him up in trip.
