Any Drama kept up our recent flow of winners with a welcome success under top weight in the Class 3 two and a half mile handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter on New Year’s Eve.

It’s really good to see him making up for lost time after he spent a frustrating period on the sidelines caused by a nasty cut he sustained from a fall over fences on his only start last season.

He then ran below par at Newbury early in November when quite a few of ours were not sparkling.

But Any Drama’s form as a novice was decent, he enjoys soft ground and stays well so we were hopeful of a better show at Uttoxeter and he won well despite jumping a shade right handed at times.

He led early on, was prominent the whole way, and was back in front again soon after the second last despite briefly being hampered.

Any Drama then kept on stoutly in the colours of Nicholas Cooper to beat Star of Rory by seven lengths.

He was our fifth winner from our last fifteen runners with four more being placed.

Our focus now switches to Exeter on New Year’s Day where we are sending a strong team including Bullionaire and King Roland.
